The ARPA-E Energy Innovation Summit is an annual conference and technology showcase that brings together experts from different technical disciplines and professional communities to think about America’s energy challenges in new and innovative ways. Now in its seventh year, the Summit offers a unique, three-day program aimed at moving transformational energy technologies out of the lab and into the market. ThermoLift was selected to exhibit our natural gas heat pump during the Technology Showcase. The Showcase offered the opportunity to display our technology and progress, as well as network with several prominent industry leaders.
After a rigorous selection process, ThermoLift is pleased to announce that we have been selected as a finalist to compete in the 6th annual Clean Energy Trust Challenge, the largest cleantech single-day pitch competition in the nation. The Clean Energy Trust is an impact investor that fuels innovation and launches, funds, and grows early-stage clean energy startups in the Midwest. Out of over sixty entries, we were chosen to compete against fifteen other cleantech startups on Tuesday, April 12 at the full-day event in Chicago. As finalists, we will present our business plan to top cleantech industry investors and venture capitalists for a chance to win up to $1 million in funding – a record amount for the Clean Energy Trust Challenge.
Wells Fargo & Co. (WFC) selected ThermoLift among six clean technology startup companies to join the Wells Fargo Innovation Incubator (IN2), a five-year, $10 million program which is helping accelerate innovative environmental technologies. The six early stage companies – two in California and one each in Illinois, Indiana, Massachusetts, and New York – are joining the Innovation Incubator to refine their potentially game-changing technologies for the commercial buildings marketplace. ThermoLift is excited to begin this venture with Wells Fargo to further the development of the Ultimate Heat Pump.
ThermoLift recently placed second in the Venture Showcase, part of the Columbia Energy Symposium. The Columbia Venture Showcase brings together New York’s sharpest young entrepreneurs and energy innovators with investors, VCs, and the Columbia University community. The Showcase gave startups the spotlight on their innovations and a chance to pitch their ideas. Participating companies presented to a panel of judges according to their development stage with the opportunity to win $1,000 in cash prizes and potential investments.
ThermoLift recently had the opportunity to attend The Industry Growth Forum, presented by the National Renewable Energy Laboratory (NREL). The Forum is the perfect venue for clean energy innovators to maximize their exposure to receptive capital and strategic partners. The 2015 Forum showcased 30 competitively selected emerging companies, provocative panels led by thought leaders, and facilitated networking sessions. Since 2003, presenting companies have collectively raised more than $5 billion in growth financing.
ThermoLift recently attended the NYC Cleantech Summit. Leading cleantech startups from around the region showcased their companies and were presented with awards. Pitching companies featured the winners of this year’s Cleantech Open business competition and top startups from the NEXUS-NY and PowerBridgeNY programs.
ThermoLift was announced as a winner of the Innovator of the Year awards, presented by Innovate LI, which recognize Long Island’s best and brightest ideas. This year’s list includes winners in software development, biotechnology, clean energy, science and technology, general inventiveness and craft food and beverage. The program also honors individuals who have given their considerable time and talent to mentor members of the region’s growing entrepreneurial ecosystem. ThermoLift was named a winner in the Clean Energy sector.
This two-day event introduces new energy efficient innovations in buildings, transportation, and advanced manufacturing and facilitate public-private partnerships and collaboration that will enable these technologies to enter the market. ThermoLift had the opportunity to participate in facilitated networking sessions with industry stakeholders, technical experts, and financial advisors, as well as discuss the challenges preventing disruptive technologies from mass adoption and hear how leading manufacturers are moving advanced technologies to market.
Energy ConneXions is a new event that brings together leaders in the federal government, the private sector, and others from across the energy efficiency and renewable energy sector to advance collaboration. Manufacturers, distributors, and representatives of all sizes were invited to display their products, services, and equipment. This trade show was a great opportunity to get in on the ground floor and form relationships with real buyers.
The Long Island Capital Alliance assists local companies in raising growth capital. They host quarterly, industry-focused capital forums at which business of all levels of development have an opportunity to present their business plan to attendees, including LICA members, investors, business executives, and others. At each capital forum, they also host a panel of industry and investor experts who discuss the investment climate for the presenting companies.
